Résumé

The performance of the MITC general shell elements is evaluated based on the fundamental considerations for the finite element analysis of shells. The different characteristic behaviors of shell structures are considered, and the difficulties encountered in finite element analysis of such structures are discussed. An evaluation strategy of finite element procedures is also provided.
