Résumé
A thorough study of harmonic generation at a high pumping energy using a long focal length lens was performed. Using a pumping energy of 27 mJ and a f=2 m lens, the influence of the beam aperture, the medium length, and the atomic density on the harmonic yield produced in a pulsed gas jet was studied. Different saturation regimes were identified. In particular, the interplay between phase matching, absorption, and defocusing was clearly observed.
