Résumé

Propagation and refraction of Gaussian beams originating in the Gabor frame decomposition of source fields is studied with application to the analysis of dielectric lenses. Accuracy of asymptotic closed-form expressions used for Gaussian beam tracking (GBT) through dielectric interfaces is evaluated numerically. The numerical results obtained by GBT for a variety of configurations are compared with those computed by the multifilament current version of the method of moments. It is demonstrated that the GBT method is an attractive fast technique for design and optimisation of lens antennas and quasi-optical systems.
