abstract = "High voltage pulsed nanosecond discharge can be an efficient tool for ignition of combustible mixtures, allowing significantly, by a few orders of magnitude, decrease the ignition delay time due to simultaneous dissociation in the discharge and heating via relaxation of electronically excited species. The present work presents a review of domain of thermodynamical parameters (initial pressure and temperature) and gas mixture composition for available in the literature experiments on combustion initiated or sustained by nanosecond discharges. Possible advantages of distributed system of ignition based on the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) are analyzed. Non-resolved problems of physics of DBDs in chemically active mixtures are discussed.",
