Résumé

Curcumin is a bioactive molecule having potential applications in medical field. Present study focuses to synthesise the hybrid biomaterials of curcumin loaded nano zeolitic imidazolate frameworks of zinc and cobalt metals by solvothermal method. Influence of curcumin on surface morphology and thermal properties of the hybrid biomaterials have been investigated. The framework hybrids are characterised by FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, BET surface area and TGA. The studies reveal that the hybrid biomaterials show high thermal stability with well identified morphology, decrease in particle size and large pore volume. In vitro antiproliferative studies corroborate that hybrid biomaterial displays greater cell growth inhibitory performance than that of pure metal organic framework and pure curcumin towards HeLa cells. In vitro cytotoxicity studies reveal that CCM–ZIF-67 hybrid biomaterial exhibits more specificity towards cancerous cells.
