title = "Interactive multimedia scenario: Modeling \& rendering",
abstract = "In this paper we present an integrated System for modeling \& rendering Interactive Multimedia Applications (IMAPs). The modeling covers widely the issue of interactive scenaria and its constituents: events (atomic and complex, as carriers of interaction) and spatiotemporal composition of presentation actions. The result of IMAP specification under this approach is a declarative script In order to render the presentation specifications, the appropriate algorithms have to be developed. We present the transformation into algorithms of the declarative specifications produced during the authoring phase. Subsequently, the scenario rendering strategy is presented, based on a generic s.ngle threaded architecture that regularly detects and evaluates events that occur in the presentation context. The detected events trigger the execution of the appropriate-synchronized presentation actions imposed by the scenario. The system is fully implemented using the authoring tool Asymetrix/Toolbook 4.0 under Windows 95.",
