Résumé

An entirely different approach for synthesizing nanoparticles exhibiting giant 'molecular' hyperpolarizability (β) values, evidenced by the spontaneous alignment of several hundreds of dipolar chromophores in each particles, was designed. The strategy to engineer these supramolecular assemblies of nonlinear optics (NLO)-phores involves a combination of several areas of chemistry such as J-aggregates of organic dyes, intercalation in layered materials and control of nanoparticle growth. The β measurements of the [MnPS3/DAZOP] nanoparticles and of pure DAZOP iodide were performed by harmonic light scattering at 1.91 μm. The nanoparticles and pure DAZOP iodide were dissolved in chloroform in the presence of PVP.
