Résumé
This chapter focuses on the narrow band mode of the IEEE 802.15.6 standard. This narrow band mode aims to become the Internet of Things (IoT) reference standard for the medical industry. The chapter then describes the characteristics of various WiFi standards 802.11a/n/ac. In order to promote the development of the narrow band mode, it proposes an OFDM receiver that can, for example, be used by a conventional WiFi receiver, and which would then serve as a multi-standard receiver. Next, the chapter specifies the OFDM parameters for both IEEE 802.11a/g standards. Then, it details the algorithms proposed for frame synchronization, frequency synchronization and time synchronization in a multi-standard receiver OFDM context. The chapter further reviews the specificities of the wireless body area network (WBAN) standard signal. The WBAN standard offers a wide range of throughput and therefore tolerates several applications. This standard operates over several frequency bands discussed.
