This chapter gives an overview of the currently evolving research topics in SC generation that pursue power and energy scaling, and control of SC radiation. A special emphasis is given to various extracavity pulse compression and self-compression techniques which rely on spectral broadening and SC generation in bulk solid-state media, and which currently receive a great deal of revived interest.",
