Résumé
The islands of the Ria Formosa archipelago include beaches, dunes and salt marshes under a global environmental policy, thanks to a double regulation : a strict nature reserve edicted in the main island and a natural park covering the lagoon. Indeed, the fishing activities, as well as the demographic pressure (both seasonal and permanent) lead the park managers to a redefinition of their ecological objectives with attention paid to the social, economical and cultural background of each island. Submitted to a three-fold movement of preservation, urbanization and heritage reinvention, each community's response to the environmental policy is unique.
