Résumé
This work investigates different ways of planning a DVB-T network for mobile and indoor services. It was motivated by the introduction of IP Datacast (IPDC) as a way of offering multicast and broadcast services to mobile or indoor users. We initially stress on Single Frequency Networks (SFN) planning. We have found, based on a theoretical network, a maximum value of the allowable inter-transmitter distance (30 km in our simulations). Concerning mix networks of SFN and Multi Frequency Network (MFN), we obtain, for a desired coverage area size, the parameter of the SFN clusters. Then we examine the minimum reuse factor K to achieve the desired QoS. We also present some design considerations for IPDC networks.
