Résumé

Log-likelihood of received bits is considered for the classical approach to demodulation of digital signals modulated using Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK). Using the symmetric functions mechanism a stable and efficient algorithm is obtained allowing to compute the probability that this value is close to zero. A combinatorial interpretation of the formulae obtained with symmetric functions is given by introducing a new class of combinatorial objects, and finally we give a bijection between this class and {0, l}-matrices.
