Résumé

Two stable solid phases grew during the directional solidification of peritectic alloys. The alloys grew into a metastable liquid phase of larger impurity content than either solid phase. When the parent or both solid phases were morphologically unstable, one solid phase outgrew and covered the other phase. This phenomenon led to a cellular-dendritic array structure closely analogous to the one formed for both phases and was morphologically stable.
