Résumé

The complete spatial distribution of narrow resonances was theoretically and experimentally investigated by a careful analysis of the direct transmitted light beam in a rotating polarization experiment in the ground state. Results show that rotating polarization resonances are the ideal tool to isolate the departure from Lorentzian resonance profile in experiments involving an interaction between a Gaussian laser beam and an atomic system.
