abstract = "Rhamnolipids, as the extensively studied biosurfactants, are a subclass of glycolipids. Rhamnolipid-producing bacteria are developed by introducing key genes of rhamnolipid biosynthesis into a wild type strain that is devoid of rhamnolipid biosynthesis capability, via either transposon or plasmid. The engineered strain is then used to produce rhamnolipids from different substrates. This two-stage rhamnolipid flooding gave two peaks of oil recovery. The results highlighted the promising application of rhamnolipid for EOR uses. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2007 AIChE Annual Meeting (Salt Lake City, UT 11/4-9/2007).",
