Résumé
This chapter introduces the long-range forces to surface dynamics of solid-gas interfaces. In principle, two kinds of intermolecular origin forces based on the deformation polarizability, α0, and dipole moment, μ, of a molecule offer themselves: the London dispersive component and the specific component of the adsorption Gibbs free energy. This was newly to find surface free energy, surface energy (or surface enthalpy), acid-base character, degree of adhesion between solid-solid interfaces, adsorption isotherm, and energetic distribution in a monolayer.
