Résumé

This chapter reviews the correlations among adhesion, London dispersive and/or acid-base interactions with emphasis on intermolecular and complex materials, in the field of polymers, fillers, fibers, and pigments. These interactions and phenomena at solid-solid interfaces have received great attention in the field of physical chemistry of surfaces and fracture mechanics, which techniques are now fairly well established and routinely used to interrogate the dispersive or acid-base characteristics of solid-solid interfaces.
