Résumé
In this chapter, we present a brief summary on the state of the art of supercontinuum generation in wide-bandgap dielectric materials with near-infrared pumping and a more detailed overview of recent experimental developments along with representative examples of infrared supercontinuum generation employing narrow bandgap bulk solid-state materials: dielectric crystals, soft glasses, and semiconductors pumped by femtosecond pulses with carrier wavelengths located in the near- and mid-infrared.
