Résumé
We present modelling results to interpret Li-like satellite spectra recorded from solid A! targets irradiated with ultra-short (80 fs), high intensity I016–1017 Wcm–2 laser pulses. A fully time-dependent, non-loca! thermodynamic equilibrium (NLTE) atomic kinetics model must be used to account for the observed satellite peak-intensity distribution; a stationary NLTE model is not sufficient. Hot electron effects on the doubly excited states population kinetics are also considered. Detailed Stark broadened line profiles are employed to compute the synthetic spectra. Modelling results indicate that the satellite emission is emitted in a 100 fs pulse.
