abstract = "The intrinsic luminosity distribution of GRBs is currently poorly constrained by observations. In the framework of the internal shock model, it depends on the distribution of the kinetic energy injection rate in the relativistic outflow emerging from the central source and on the efficiency of internal shocks. We study the effect of this efficiency and show that it naturally leads a luminosity function with a high luminosity branch whose shape follows that of the kinetic injection rate, together with a power law tail at low luminosity.",
