Résumé
Polychromatic X-ray radiation have been produced during the relativistic interaction of a 50 TW femtosecond laser with an Helium gas jet. All the measurements indicate that the most plausible process at the origin of the observed X-ray emission is the Larmor radiation. Such femtosecond laser-based Larmor radiation should mark the emergence of a new generation of ultrafast x-ray bursts produced from the relativistic motion of particles, with the challenge to extend x-ray absorption probing techniques (EXAFS) on femtosecond time-scales.
